Vectorhead
I been trying to create some back lighted panels. For example using a 3Form panel that has a pattern and I would like for the render to look light is passing thru. Everything I have tried only seems to make the image file seem faded not be brighter. Any thoughts on how to create backlit panels. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Edited August 29, 2015 by ddix Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Can you post a screenshot or a vwx file with a few of your objects you are using? Or explain more what you have so far? Not sure how far along you are. There are at least two strategies for this: 1. Create a 3d object with cutouts. (eg an extrude of a cutout 2d poly) 2. Apply an image texture to a 3d object (eg a 3d poly or a NURBS surface). The image texture uses Image Mask as the transparency shader. Either way, there needs to be a light source which can shine through the panel. -B Quote Link to comment

Vectorhead
Benson & Kevin, Thanks for your replies and advice. Kevin after looking over your link, I realized I needed to increase my glow texture from 100 to 250 for the light to appear to be passing thru the panels. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Kevin's da Man! I thought we were talking about shaped panels with holes. These must be the 3Form Organics or similar. -B Quote Link to comment
