How long is it taking? I'm seeing 20sec on my Mac and 7sec on my Windows machine for 2015 SP2.

Is this initial launch after a reboot or even restarting Vectorworks on its own?

^Misread initial post. The subject referred to launch time but the post referred to opening the Workspace dialogs.

On my machines it takes 4 seconds to open Workspace Editor on Windows and 5 seconds on my Mac. Maybe 1.1 seconds to open just the the "Workspaces" dialog. How long is it taking specifically on your end?

Thats extreme. On your machine, with Vectorworks closed, perform the following steps to back up and then wipe your prefs:

Do this:

(You can simply back them up to a folder on the desktop for the test)

Then:

Then, reboot the machine and try launching Vectorworks. Tell me if it takes the same amount of time, more, or less.

This is even with no other applications running? That is an extremely long time.

If you create a new user account in this manner as a test:

http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/805/Creating+a+New+User+Account+%28Mac+OSX%29

then try launching Vectorworks both the initial time (which may ask for your serial number) and then a second time, is it just as slow?

More activations won't be used up on a new account as long as its on the same hardware. It will see that its the same machine and not take up another one.

If you DO move your workspaces and whatnot into the new account and the slowness comes back, then they might be the cause. I suggest trying just workspaces and see if thats the culprit.

If you have large numbers of resource libraries added to your resource browser, that can significantly slow launching as well.
