erase duplicates

Often with files from other CAD sources, there are duplicated lines in the exact location. Is there a way to select duplicates or erase duplicates?

I was used to have had Tools like,

Mesh Cleanup (Meshes) :

delete, Double Elements, Floating Vertices, Merge, Unify, ...

and

Data Cleaning (Solids) :

finding/select Gaps, Double Elements, Overlappings

As you write this I realize there is no such Tool in VW.

So I vote for such a tool in VW.

I believe the closest thing we have to that is Select Coincident Objects, but it is very manual and does not give any sort of batch-removal or simplification options.

I find this would be useful after a Trace Bitmap operation as well, as unclean/hand drawn scans trace with a good bit of mess around them.

Optimize Drawing by Vectorbits can be used to rid a drawing of duplicates and fragments. It also simplifies polys, joins elements together and converts 3D polys to 2D polys. http://www.vectorbits.org/VectorBits_12.5/VBPlugins/VB_Left_Plugins.html

It would be nice to have the capabilities listed by zoomer in the program including a simplify mesh command.
