jmartinarch
I received a site plan from a land surveyor and am attempting to create my own site plan from his data. I enter the bearing data and sometimes the line goes in the opposite direction than intended. How do I correct these lines? It is an "L" shaped lot. I've tried going clockwise and counter clockwise but still will have a line shoot off in the opposite direction. I could probably enter the data differently, i.e instead of N xxdxxmxxs E, enter S xxdxxmxxs W. The result will be correct but then the dimension & bearing data won't match the survey. Suggestions? CipesDesign
The easiest way I have found is to precisely trace the polygon of the property line, then use the Objects from Shapes command to create your Prop Line. You may need to fiddle with the Angle Format in order to get the exact same results as the surveyor... Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Oh, by the way, I should have said that first you will need to Import the DWG file form the surveyor. If you are working from a PDF (or other not exactly scalable/snappable format) then I suggest that you could simply draw the thing and add labels as annotations. Unless the site is really complicated it shouldn't take very long to do this. Quote Link to comment
jmartinarch
All I have is a paper copy. I manipulated as mentioned changing the north-south bearings and when it closed it somehow miraculously corrected itself to match the data on the survey! Now I'm on to fixing an error in my custom title block. ?. Thanks, Quote Link to comment
M5d
Another way, when the survey data doesn't all flow in the same direction, is to use negative values in the length field. Quote Link to comment
