Unable to backward save in new 2015

Just lost an entire file because we opened it in 2015. Now our office cannot save back to 2014, 2013. We are stuck in 2015. Anyone else tried this?

What happens when you try to save to the older version?

How did you lose the file by the way? It should add "v2015" to the end of the name by default, not replace the original unless you save over it manually.

The file is corrupt when it's saved back to a 2013 "unexpected end of file..."

A 2014 save goes through the dialog but the saved file never shows up at the location.

We've lost it because we can't take it back to 2014 which is what we need to do to distribute it.

Get in touch with support directly, send them the 2015 version as well as the broken exported version please. I haven't seen that in any of my testing and I can not replicate it here now.

It's launch day, so I expect problems..for me, 2015 is not stable enough for production work. It is noticeably faster, but working with Sheet viewports crashes every time and annotations in viewports keep the beach ball spinning. Had to go back to 2014 for now...but, the export process back to 2014 was flawless.

Grant, I encountered this problem and it was a file naming issue. File names need to be alphanumeric only with the suffix of .vwx

Make sure your file names don't include any characters other than numbers and letters. Spaces should be okay but anything else might be a problem. Especially bad are multiple full stops and forward and backward slashes.

Second computer tried. The export-2014 file goes through the entire dialog but the file never shows up, regardless of what I name it.

Got the same issue with your file here in testing. Same issue occurs on Mac and Windows. Submitting the file and the issue now.

We were not able to replicate your issue with any files made here, but R&D was able to isolate the issue found in your file and it should be corrected in an upcoming service pack.

Apologies that there isn't a faster fix, but it wasn't something that could be repaired in the file, it had to be repaired in the application itself.

To other users: this does not appear to be widespread, but if you do come across this problem, please send me the affected file to verify the solution will work for your files as well.

Ok, glad it was found. We've rebuilt the file from a previous one. BIG WISHLIST to be able to cut and paste sheet layers and have them bring in model layers.
