Bruce Kieffer
This has been happening all day. I'm working on one complex file that has been upgraded a few times. I do a few trim tool operations, and then VW crashes. I can't save often enough! It's almost like if I try to trim things quickly, that causes the crash. It's not one object specifically, it's just the trimming operation. Edited May 30, 2014 by Bruce Kieffer Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
It must be corruption in my file. I copied some of the objects I'm trying to trim to a new file and no problem there. I wish there were a program we could run to tell us what is wrong with the file that has problems. Vectorworks doesn't like something so it crashes. Tell me what you (VW) don't like so I can fix it! Benson Shaw
Like. Nice idea, Bruce. A diagnostic command or something to find problem objects or resources. Maybe even fix or suggest what is wrong and next steps. -B Quote Link to comment
Bruce Kieffer
Yea, I see a day long in the future where a computer is smart enough to tell a person there's a problem, and ask if it's OK for it to fix the problem! Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Remember that old Mac/Windows quip? If Microsoft and Apple built cars - - - If you tried to put on the brakes: the Microsoft car would crash. the Apple car would suspend your control of the car to ask you whether or not you actually wanted to put on the brakes (screeech . . . crash). -B Quote Link to comment
