seth wilson
HI, I'm new to Vectorworks. Can anyone point me towards a good tutorial that would show ho to unwrap an object and apply an image to it? Also, is there a way to assign different materials and textures to different parts of a model? Quote Link to comment
rDesign
Seth- I don't think there is an easy way in Vectorworks to unwrap an object and apply an image to it, also known as UV mapping. For a general overview of texture mapping in Vectorworks, take a look at the 'Getting Started Guides', specifically Getting Started with Vectorworks Renderworks I have had better luck by using a separate 3D software package (such as Sketchup or Maxon Cinema 4D) to apply the texture UV mapping on an object, exporting to 3DS (with texture), and then importing that mapped 3DS file back into Vectorworks. Take a look at this Youtube video on how to do this in Sketchup via . HTH. Quote Link to comment
