Vectorworks library content

Does anybody have also problems to install the Vectorworks library content?

I did anything as described in the Download Instructions but Vectorworks is not displaying any progress in the lower right bar even after hours.

How much disk space do you have free on your machine? Also can you tell me the size of your downloaded package and its name?

I experienced this with the Vectorworks Architect package. All other packages showed progress except this one. It did install though.

Hmm, the file sizes seem to be wrong. How are you downloading them? Which platform are you on [edit: I notice you mentioned Win7 up in your first comment] (that can be helpful to add in your profile generally here, the specs of your machine and the platform, as well as your Vectorworks version).

Have you successfully installed any of them?

I downloaded them all from the link download content in VW 2014 and did not get any error message. In nearly 100% of my downloads I do not have any problems with file size or anything else.

VW 2014 Landmark

Win 7pro 64

Intel Core i5 2500K

16 GB RAM

2 TB disk

What I was wondering though was what tool do you use to download them? Presumably through the browser? What browser/version?

Maybe I try Firefox and download the whole package

PS If I go into the details tab of the files I get the same size as you specify on the content download page.

Yeah the differences seem slight in most cases. One thing that could tell us for sure is verifying the MD5s, I'm not sure if you are familiar with using tools like this to get an MD5 sum of the file?

Those are actually all correct. Can you confirm again how much free disk space you have?

And when you go into the resource browser, you don't see a Objects-Miscellaneous & Entourage under Libraries for example?

I found the solution.

Although I am administrator, I have to set VW 2014 to start in adminstrator mode under the compatibility tab of the program properties.

Some programs need that in Win7pro.

Hmm, that's very interesting to know. We've specifically set the permissions of the target directory to allow for installation when you aren't running in administrator mode, so I'm surprised to hear that. We'll look into this further. Thanks!
