Convert Copy to Lines/Polygons

Why wouldn't:

Convert Copy to Polygons - Hidden Line mode simply produce a rectangle from a rectangular extrude.

It produces a Polygon and four lines!

-scale it up to a complex model and the tool becomes virtually useless.

If you select the rectangular extrude and use the new Create Auto Hybrid command, then you wouldn't need to convert it to lines.

But this doesn't produce a rectangle.

The extrude is an simple example. Let's say I want to produce the silhouette of a bicycle...

I agree completely. Convert to Lines and Convert to Polygons have long been in need of an update. Both should understand how to convert curves and more complex objects with holes.
