Kevin McAllister
Does anyone know what sets the resolution (number of polygons) of curved objects when they're sent to Cinema 4D using the "Send to Cinema 4D" command? Some things are coming in feeling more faceted than they should be. I can adjust them for looks in Cinema 4D but I actually need geometry since I'm sending it to my 3D printer. Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted January 28, 2013 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 28, 2013 Hello Kevin: The current Renderworks render mode sets the options for Send To C4D (or Export C4D). If the current render mode is not a RW mode then Final Quality RW settings are used. If you want to control the output you can set the layer to Custom Renderworks render mode and adjust the geometry detail setting in the Custom Renderworks Options dialog. HTH Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
Thanks Dave. That's a great thing to know. Based on that premise, it seems that Final Quality RW doesn't use a very high setting for curved geometry. I get a much better result with Custom Renderworks and its very high setting for curved geometry. Kevin Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted January 28, 2013 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 28, 2013 That is right FQRW uses High for all settings. Very High is there for Custom so you can tell it "go to 11". Quote Link to comment
