Christian Fekete
I am confused as to how and where to organized or find wall types to reuse from VW upgrades. Where do I create details, wall types, rendering types etc... Would custom woorkspaces be helpful, where should I save them and are they useable from upgrade to upgrade? Is there a video showing this ? Thank you Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Mark Mullany Posted October 12, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 12, 2012 Wall styles, Render Styles etc become resources in your Resource Browser. It's probably best to create your own library file system (not in the existing one!) and add resources to it as you create them. These Library files can then be added to your favorites for quick access in any project. Between versions you can run the File > Batch Convert to upgrade your library files. You may then want to go in any libraries where the tools have had upgrades and reset them (e.g. 2012 stories for wall heights) A custom workspace can be helpful, letting you create your own palettes and shortcuts - though from what I've read this is best done on each release separately, possibly due to streamlining and reorganization of menu commands and such. I'm sure others will have comments on this as its not something I do. Best of luck Quote Link to comment
Christian Fekete
Greenhorn, thx for your input but is it possible to create a wall in a drawing and at the same time in my library system if different? HOw do you manage this? Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Once a wall style or any other resource is created, right click on it in the Resource Browser and choose 'Export'. You can then send that resource to your library document or any other vwx file. Quote Link to comment
