JimmySlort
I'm designing some on stage props who's shapes I'll need to build with either the sweep tool or the loft tool. These props are vital to the design and will be heavily textured and lit. I'm already concerned about the renders not completing and I'm wondering if there is a significant difference in between the two with regards to memory requirements? Thanks Edited September 1, 2012 by JimmySlort Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
I would think the loft tool your better choice as it produces cleaner geometry (less polygons). Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
I recently built the same geometry both ways as a test. I would also vote for the loft tool. The shapes it produces are much more processor friendly. If you do use the sweep tool make sure to adjust the segment angle down from its default which generates a ridiculous amount of geometry. JimmySlort
Thanks, I was hoping that that is the case as I find the sweep tool annoying and much prefer to loft. And now that I think of it, I do have some other items in this particular render that were created with the sweep tool and they may be the cause of my current grief.... David Quote Link to comment
