Katrin
I need to draw a column in 1/4" scale and also draw it's capital as 1/1" detail(placed next to column). How can i place 2 drawings with different scale on the same sheet? I do the following: 1)The column I did using lines/polylines on a separate design layer in 1/4" scale. 2) Then i create a viewport of the column's capital in 1/1" . 3) When i click OK I get a message: "Not all visible layers have the same scale. These layers will be displayed with the scale of the viewport". What am I doing wrong? Should i use some absolutely another approach(not viewports) to accomplish this? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted May 12, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 12, 2012 No need to draw it twice... draw it once on a design layer (make sure all your layers are at the same scale). Then, make a viewport of the entire column at 1/4" and another cropped viewport at the scale of 1/1". Hope that helps Quote Link to comment
IanH
Draw on design layers, present on a sheet layer. Sounds like you are not in sheet layer when creating your viewports. Sheet layer viewports will allow you to show design layers at different scales, and as Tamsin says, you can crop the viewport (and select classes and layers) to only show the bits of the drawing that you are interested in. That way you can present different views of same objects on same sheet of paper/PDF etc. Quote Link to comment
