DMcGrew
I'm trying to create a symbol for a Clay Paky Alpha Spot 700, and I feel like I'm running in circles. I've looked over relevant posts and I've read through the Help section, but something's not right. I downloaded the .dwg of the unit from the Clay Paky website, and imported it into a new document. Then I selected the entire thing in Top/plan view and created a symbol. However, when I got to Spotlight>Object Conversion>Convert to Instrument, I get a pop up message that tells me "Only Symbols can be converted to instruments. Non-Symbols were not converted and have been selected." But it's in my resource browser as a symbol, has a name, and I can insert it as a symbol, so what gives!? 1 Quote Link to comment
JBenghiat
If I understand correctly, you selected the group of objects you want, and converted to a symbol. It sounds like you may have had convert to group selected in your symbol options. Select the object you are trying to convert to a Lighting Device, and look at the Object Info palette. What type of object does it report you have? -Josh Quote Link to comment
