Twickenhaman
Hi, am having problems with a similar drawing of end of railing that you helped me with a few weeks ago. I am trying to create some curved metalwork to end railings against a wall. I have used the spiral toll and created the curved part but cannot join the horizontal strip /capping in 2d to the spiral as a "Compose " unit in 2D . I would then extrude it to 40 mm as one unit. Says it wont compose or add surface and wont extrude anyway. can you help please. Thanks again David Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Select the spiral object Ungroup Agree to the dire warning Spiral is now a polyline and can be added to the rectangle. hth mk Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Strange but true: In this case Ungroup and Convert to Group do exactly the same thing. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I think Convert to Group is smarter than we think. As is the Insert Symbol as Group option. They both give you a single object back if there is only a single object. If there are multiple objects then they give you a group. Since the Spiral was a single polyline, Convert to Group gave you that object instead of a group containing that one object. Quote Link to comment
