Davide
I can't get the new (9.5) trim command to work when I try to trim a rectangle ( even converted to polygon) with a line. It's always the rectangle that wins, the line spliced. I draw a line on top of the box, select both, activate the trim command ( not tool), select the line, the line is trimmed. With circles or walls it works fine. Any input? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Marc Pitman
Under VW Help/9.5.0 Documentation Bulletin there is an explanation of the trim command. It seems, just as you have stated, the trim command works only for lines and walls (not rectangles, polygons, etc.). I believe you have to use the trim tool on rectangles and polygons. Davide
Thanks, but it does work with circles. Quote Link to comment
Donald Wardlaw
I believe the tool behavior is as it used to be. ?. I seem to remember being able to trim arcs but not rectangles. The trim tool added new, different, functionality. Note though that the trim tool converts polygons and rectangles to polylines. I wish there were an option to leave them as polygons. I like having both tools---they do different things. Donald Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
I think you can retail polygons if you use another polygon as the trimmer and use CLIP SURFACE instead of trim. PLC Quote Link to comment
