Export dwg

Hi. we are having trouble exporting our elevations to dwg to allow engineers to open them up in autocad. It seems that our elevations that are shown as 'hidden line' in our viewports, and once exported are showing as 'wireframe' when opened up in autocad. This is, understandably, very confusing for engineers to read the drawings as they can't see the elevation, but the whole 3d model.

Any ideas on how best to export to autocad to prevent this occuring?

Thanks

Thanks i had thought of that, however it is rather long winded to have to copy the viewport and then export the sheet layer, then go back to the original viewport to allow us to continue working on the drawings. Thought there may be a more time-efficient way?

Interesting, you have to create your elevation viewports from section viewports to get correct - hidden line dwg export..

When exporting model generated Elevation Viewports on Sheet Layers you need to checkmark the option to "Export Viewports as 2D Graphics in Model Space". This will then produce a DWG containing only the Hidden Line Render 2D linework.

In the DWG each view will consist of two 2D Blocks - one for the linework and one for the Viewport annotations. If the recipient explodes these Blocks they will then have a usable 2D linework drawing.

I can't find this option.

It's probably VW 2010 improvement..
