Mickey
So as a new "feature" VW now automatically turns on the Instrument Insertion Took when you double click a lighting symbol in the resource browser. This is thoroughly pissing me off. How do I turn this new unasked for feature off? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted May 3, 2010 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 3, 2010 Change to a workspace that does contain the instrument insertion tool. Quote Link to comment
Mickey
What does that mean? The does contain it? My spotlight workspace contains the Insert Instrument tool. What I want is when I double click on a symbol in the Resource Browser that it doesn't automatically select the Insert Instrument tool. Quote Link to comment
waszak-the-lamper21
What Kevin is talking about, is to change the workspace...so instead of being in VW Spotlight, go into 'Building Shell' or 'Visualization'. To change it, you can either click on one of them in the list at the bottom of the Tool Set, or go to the Tools tab-->Workspaces. Hope that works. I haven't tried it myself. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted May 4, 2010 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 4, 2010 so instead of being in VW Spotlight, go into 'Building Shell' or 'Visualization'. To change it, you can either click on one of them in the list at the bottom of the Tool Set That's switching Tool Sets. You need to switch workspaces, Tools tab-->Workspaces. If a symbol has the "Light Info Record" attached and the Instrument Insertion tool is available in the workspace then it will be automatically activated. So the easiest solution is to switch workspaces or edit a copy workspace and remove the instrument insertion tool. If you are only dealing with a few symbols you can also activate the symbol insertion tool first and it will remain active while switching symbols. Quote Link to comment
