I can't seem to get the ganging tool to work...I click on the tool in the toolbar, and then click on the two lights that I want to two-fer and it doesn't do anything...it doesn't highlight the lights or anything....any ideas????

Hi- I've been using Vectorworks 2009 and 2010 on my MacBook pro and I just got 2011 on my PC. In VW 2009 and 2010, they had pre-made lighting symbols in the "libraries" folder with a bunch of companies such as etc, altman, HES, mac, etc. and I can't find that in 2011...all that I can find is truss and audio stuff....any ideas????

Yeah well they're not there in mine...

Yeah I know, but they're not all their. I attached a file of what shows up when I go there...all it is is truss and audio. It doens't have all the different devices like it usually does.

Was it rendered? Try command-shift-f (I'm not sure what the PC equivalent is)

Is there a way to apply the 'lit fog' option to all lights, instead of going through all of the lights one-by-one and selecting it manually? That gets really annoying real quick...

Ok so just to clarify, I have a project with 15 MAC 550's, and it is safe to go to the data tab and change the name of each of them?? i.e. SR truss, SL truss, etc...?

Is there a way to change the names of lights in the visualization palette? it gets confusing trying to figure out which light is which when you have a lot..

I set a focus point on a stage for moving lights, and when I assigned a moving light to a focus point, it didn't move to that position...am I doing something wrong???

1. That helped a lot! 2. What do you mean by corner block? I have 2 vertical truss' set up, and I want to fly a horizontal truss that is connected to the vertical truss....I was just wondering if there was any way of 'snapping' the flown truss, to the vertical support truss.

I have VW 2010, and I created a stage, and every time that I try to put a vertical truss on the stage, it ends up sinking to the bottom of the stage...like it goes through the stage...I'll attach a file of the picture to this thread. Is there something that I'm missing to make it not do that? And also, is there a way to rig two pieces of truss together? I'll put that in the attached photo as well. By that, I'm talking about when you set a vertical truss, is there a way to rig the horizontal truss that gets flown and attached to the vertical truss? Every time I try to do that, it looks like crap...I hope this makes sense..Thanks in advance!
