taoist
I am a newbie at this type of thing. Using VW 2008. How do you draw trim (casings)for doors, windows, crown, etc. As far as I have been able to figure out, create a profile of what you want to use/show. Are there any predefined somewhere? Then use extrude along path. Have not been able to figure this out though. Can anyone give me step by step or is there video or how to do this? taoist Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Yes, use Extrude Along Path. Create the profile object; Create the path object; Select them both and run the command. Then examine the results. SOme fiddling is usually required. Post back if you need more specifics. Quote Link to comment
JSiegel
Taoist, See link below for some insight on profiles/extrude along path. It was under the Renderworks Forum List/ Natural Daylighting/ 10-07-09 Ray Libby had some helpful information. Guest Wes Gardner
2010 ships with a wide array of crown, casing, base, etc. profiles - in '08, you'll need to create your own (trace an image or perhaps download a .dwg) Then follow Peter's steps - you'll often need to edit the profile and move the shape so it aligns with the "crosshairs" giving you the correct placement of your extrude. Experiment with it - it's a cool command! Quote Link to comment

The tiny minority of VW users (McMansion -designers) are heavily subsidised by the vast majority, who pay for this wide array of useless crap. Quote Link to comment
