EugP
Hi, I would appreciate help doing what is probably easy but I can't figure it out. I need to insert a 6" fire sprinkler pipe 10' high that spans a 55' long space. When I try to use the 3D round tube object I can't seem to give it any length, and I can't seem to insert a 2D object and then extrude it to a length. The idea of taking a double line, rotating it and then extruding it seems ludicrous because the symbols are all there. Obviously I need some practice, but the help files are so sparse as to be useless. Thanks for any help. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Try simply changing to a side (profile) view and then draw a circle. Then just extrude the circle to the correct length. As always with extrudes you will need to go to top/plan view to re-position it (as all extrudes are created from o,o). Also, you can stretch (reshape) extrudes by grabbing their resize handles, so I often don't worry so much about the exact length of the extrude during creation, I just go to top/plan and pull the ends to where I need them to be. Hope that helps... Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
The Tube object creates an extrusion. Switch to an elevation view and place the object on the page giving it a height parameter and then a radius value. Then move it to the required location (rotating as required). Quote Link to comment
