  1. Hi, I have hanging positions that were built in vw2019 out of pipe objects, then made into a symbol, then turned into hanging positions. When I open the file in vw2021 the pipes do not show, only the tick marks. A 3D flyover of the position shows nothing in vw2021 while it shows as pipes in vw2019. Where did the pipe info go? Somehow it seems like the underlying class has been lost but I'm not sure where. Thanks for any help. Oh, NVM, Have to turn on view pipes in the Symbol edit.
  2. Hi, I would appreciate help doing what is probably easy but I can't figure it out. I need to insert a 6" fire sprinkler pipe 10' high that spans a 55' long space. When I try to use the 3D round tube object I can't seem to give it any length, and I can't seem to insert a 2D object and then extrude it to a length. The idea of taking a double line, rotating it and then extruding it seems ludicrous because the symbols are all there. Obviously I need some practice, but the help files are so sparse as to be useless. Thanks for any help.
  3. Hi, I work at a university that has very tight network security. This means I do not have write privilege to the C drive of my workstation, where VW preferences are saved. As a result I am unable to save any workspaces or other settings and must rebuild them every time the program is started. Does anyone know of a solution for this issue? Is there an administrative function that would tell the program to save preferences to a network profile location? (The network admins would like this best) Is it possible to temporarily build a workspace, save it when an administrator is present to allow local writing, then dis-allow the write privileges for the local user and still have the program work? Thanks for any help, Sincerely, Eugene Palmer University of California at Berkeley
  4. Does Vectorworks have a web based viewer such as Autodesk's WHIP! viewer? Um, I guess the more appropriate question is can Vectorworks export a DWF file? I don't see it listed so I guess not. I found CADviewer is cross platform for dwf browser viewing. http://www.cadviewer.com/ Then there's also the Volo Viewer- http://www.autodesk.com/prods/volo/download.htm Try them yourself on the dwf's here- http://www.calperfs.berkeley.edu/facilities/ Bye, [This message has been edited by EugP (edited 10-05-2000).]
