User_Error
Hi. I'm posting this for a friend using Vectorworks 2008 SP3. When she deletes a line or a curve in the program display, it doesn't 'update'. Usually when she navigates to another location, sometimes half the deleted line will remain on the screen. Anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix, or one of those things to live with? :-) Cheers for any help, User_Error. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
This is likely to be a video driver problem, especially if this is a windows machine. Does it redraw probably if she double clicks the Z key? Try updating the drivers and see if the problem goes away. Quote Link to comment
User_Error
Thank you for your response - sorry for the late reply. The OS is OSX 10.5 (Mac OS). Quote Link to comment
User_Error
Update: pressing the Z key does not seem to refresh the display in this case. The user has not changed any key bindings. I am keen to see how to resolve driver issues on Mac OSX. Can this be done? Quote Link to comment
MullinRJ
Are there duplicate lines in the same position? Deleting the top one "appears" to have no effect. Make sure she is not pressing Option-Select inadvertently. Raymond Quote Link to comment
GPRDS
I also got these errors.. in another way.. If you copy and paste objects from one VW file to another one, and that you UNDO the paste action, sometimes the objects, lines, everything that was pasted stays in the drawing. These objects are impossible to select. Try to force the selection, and POOF! VW crashes once again... Strange stuff ! I wouldn't be ready to say it has somethin' to do with video card nor drivers... mike m oz
GPRDS - Are you experiencing this in the one version of Vw because I've only ever seen a crash of the type you describe when someone copies information from one version of Vw (say 12) and then tries to paste it into another version of Vw (eg Vw 2008 or vw 2009). Pat Stanford
What happens if you force a screen redraw after the undo? In VW2009 in the standard workspaces either double click the Pan tool or hit the H key twice in a row. In prior versions the shortcut to the Pan tool was Z so hit that twice instead. User_Error
Screen redraw does not help the issue. Panning the drawing or zooming in does 'refresh' and help. Edited September 10, 2009 by User_Error Quote Link to comment
