Basic colors folder

Recommended Posts

It would be nice if there was a folder of just basic colors, like paint, to use as textures. I am working with my kids, but when they say their walls are a light blue paint I can't find the color as a texture. I know there are a million different colors, but a selection of say 100 would be great.

Anyone know where I can find something like this??

You can use actual paint colors from behr and others. I believe their palettes are available from the color picker down at the bottom.

I usually start with a texture, duplicate it then edit it for color...

Go to the Resource Browser, duplicate a texture, rename it then edit it - right click and select edit, under Shaders choose Plain Color, then pick your color and voila...you can then duplicate, rename and "recolor" to make more...

Use cool names so your kids will enjoy themselves - play with some of the reflectivity options and other effects while you're there

That would be Ok, if I had the time, except I have 150 kids doing projects and looking for as many different colors.

I need to find pre-made paint colors they can use, and won't take me a lifetime to set up for them. I am surprised VW hasn't gotten the paint manufaturers to provide colors ready for VW. What do Arch use???

It's there.

In the Attributes Palette click on the button to choose a fill color. There will be a Color Palette Manager in the top right corner.

The Rosco Colors are really simple and useful.

Ok. found it. I don't set stuff - am a lighting Designer,

so I selected the wall of the set but could not get it to change to the color I selected in the atributes pallet.

how do I apply the color to a wall?

Select the wall, give it a solid fill in the Attributes palette, choose your color in the Attributes palette.

If you still can't figure it out post a file here with an example.

I selected the wall on the right and changed the color to red in the Attributes palette.

Maybe you are changing the line color and not the fill color?

Jim

The walls already have a texture - FA3622*"prisma"

In 2D they will accept a color.

In 3D they already display the correct texture.

Is this what you are trying to get it to do?
