instrument key

i need to know how to create an instrument key with counts but no inventory its just too messy and unneeded. Any input would be great

ps i am running spotlight 12.5 on windows xp

The Key to Instrumentation is just a group. You can double click it to edit. The inventory column will just be a bunch of text boxes. Delete them and exit the group.

thats what i generally do but i was wondering if there was a way i could forego that process, im hoping there is a way to edit how it is generated i just cant find anything.i tried to go into its vector script but it said it was locked which is probably for the better

Yes it would be nice, because when you edit that group and reformat it like you want then rerun the report to update the key all is lost. I tend to make my own legend and key that just look pretty and use the key to instruments to generate a count and then just change my count.

It kinda stinks, but is better then have to constantly reformat.

One method I've thought of using is similar to MattG. except I would make the information out of a report that way when I want to update the count you just have to recalculate. The only problem with that will come down to if the name of the symbols are the ones you want to use in the key.
