Viper x
From a read of the specs any advancements seem to be on the margins again, has the Place Plant Tool been upgraded and in general has there been any real improvements to core functions ? BTW is 2009 a complete new version to 2008 or a tweak ? Thanks Quote Link to comment
dspearman
The biggest improvement to the place plant tool is the tag improvements. You now have dramatically more control over how and where the plant tag and leader are drawn. I seem to be getting more speed but not dramatically so. I haven't had an issue with the 2d plant rendering at all... Quote Link to comment
Viper x
The biggest improvement to the place plant tool is the tag improvements. I hope you are joking ? A new version of the software and the biggest improvement is the "the tags" ? Quote Link to comment
IanH
There were significant changes to the plant tool between 11 and 2008. Until I get my upgrade to 2009 tomorrow I can't say for sure, but I don't think too much, other than having better control of the plant tags and additional plants in the database for some regions, has changed in 2009. Viper x
but I don't think too much, other than having better control of the plant tags and additional plants in the database Sounds like 2009 is an "UPGRADElite" Look forward to your thoughts on the landmark section. Quote Link to comment
dspearman
Viper, My comments were restricted to one tool that just had a major redesign. This was the question that was asked and I was answering it. To assume that this is the extent of the improvements to an extensive and broad program would be both short sighted and unfair. Viper x
I understand that, question is what incentive is there to upgrade when (perhaps, ie jurys still out and await more feedback) advancements in the core function of landmark ( ie the place plant tool) are so minimal, ( ie plant tags and some more species in the library ) ? M.CH
Since you are running 11.5 you will find huge benefits upgrading but I would look at your hardware specs first. Quote Link to comment
