Section Viewport, easy help I hope

I like the section viewport, at least the idea of it a lot. I don't like the way it always appears. Is the default for sectioned objects always red, is there a way to change that? Is there a way to edit in the viewport? I often get a lot of lines of things I am slicing where the line weight has become much heavier. Can I set these things as defaults?

The view of the section plane is controlled by a class.

By default, that class is called Section Style. Change the class attributes and it will change all of the SVP settings.

In the Object Info Palette for the SVP (Section View Port) under the Advanced Properties Button, the Attributes tab you can pick a different class to use for the section and merge or separate the cross sections.

If you put the class attributes for Section Style to what you want in your template, every new SVP will get the look you want.
