Jonathan L
I've had a problem with 3 files I have been working on where the wall tool suddenly becomes inoperative. I can select the tool, draw a length of wall, but nothing appears on the drawing. Any fixes? Quote Link to comment
Jonathan L
I've investigated this further. If I import a wall style that works in another drawing then I can draw walls in the affected drawing. I still don't understand what happened to the walls I'm trying to draw with the styles that are supposed to be in the drawing (including unstyled). Seems an awful messy thing to me. Damon Design
You should include your hardware/OS & Vectorworks # info for us to attempt to help you. Quote Link to comment
brudgers
Perhaps the walls are being drawn in a class which is not visible, or have components which are in such classes. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
i suspect classes, or class options. Go to the Navigation Palette and turn all the classes on, and turn the class options to show/snap/modify others Quote Link to comment
Jonathan L
I am running Vworks 2008 on OSX 10.5.2 on a Macbook 2 Ghz processor with1 gB memory. Yes it was class visibility. I am very confused but this whole system of styles/ classes but will gradually get my head around it Edited March 17, 2008 by Jonathan L Quote Link to comment
Don@Black Dog
It takes a bit at firts to get to understand the layer/class concepts and flexibility. I think of it as the Layer is the Place (Floor, Roof, Slab etc) and Class is the Thing (millwork, window, wall) on that Layer. Jonathan's point is excellent. When in doubt, turn everything on and see what you get. It's easy to put things in the wrong place. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
I always set class options to Show/Snap/Modify Others. It saves a lot of aggravation. Quote Link to comment
brudgers
Items not showing up when you draw them is a feature of the class system. It can also happen if you are annotating a viewport and the class is turned off as an over-ride. Quote Link to comment
