Allison
Hi can anyone help me. I am learning Vectorworks on the version previous to 2008, but I have 2008 at home. I want to draw a building plan using the wall tool. There is a floating data bar following my cursor, so when it gets to the lengths I want the walls to be, I click. But when I went back and checked my dimensions, they're all out by several mm. So I tried to get this right by drawing a simple line and entering the distance in the data bar for its length. I notice that just by hitting TAB it allows me to enter the length in the floating data bar which follows my cursor. However, no matter what I do, whether I hit ENTER, RETURN or click on the screen, it is not finishing my line at the length I typed in. In fact, I can use my cursor and continue lengthening the line as much as I want. I know its incorrect because when I check on the line length, its nothingl ike I typed in. Help! I have spent hours trying to figure this out! Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
If you are using VW2008 try hitting enter twice. Quote Link to comment
taliho
Allison - on the off chance - check TOOLS>SET GRID - and check if your Snap Grid is set too large for you to get accurate. Tali Quote Link to comment
Jeffrey W Ouellette
Allison, Use the TAB key to confirm the value after you have entered it, not the ENTER key, while in the Floating Data Bar. If this seems a bit counter-intuitive, its final design was not without a significant amount of debate and testing in many configurations. Quote Link to comment
