drips
I've mounted the disc on my desktop and when I play it within 30 seconds my CPU temp goes up to about 85?C. Fans are whirring too. Anybody else getting this hot? Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Sounds like it's trying to burn the disc ! 85?c is really hot ... Quote Link to comment
billtheia
I didn't check the temp but my fans wound up to what seemed like full speed when I did that on my MacBook. Not sure why. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
Could you copy the contents of the cd to the computer? Quote Link to comment
CRSA_890
I would doubt it would resolve if you had it on you HDD. I think (last time I used the training CD was V10) the CD contents are based in Flash and full screen. Flash is a really bloated, cpu intensive program. I bet if you take a look at your processor usage, it will be maxed out... Typically any web based flash stuff will do that, especially the larger on the screen. You comp. will power down before it gets too hot that will damage the CPU, built in protection. Keep the vents clear. Spinner Quote Link to comment
billtheia
My fan ran the same when I ran the tutorials from a copy on the hard disk image as it did when I ran from the CD. I think CRSA is right, the tutorial is very processor intensive. Quote Link to comment
drips
Thanks for the info everybody. (I <3 the internets) It's good to know it's not just my machine, but too bad in a way as well. I'm getting through the training but taking lots of breaks to cool off makes for slow going. Funny that the training CD works my comp more than VW itself... Quote Link to comment
