AEC Wall Framer VW 12.5.2

Figured out the class thing...

How is the best method to have the AEC reference a balloon framed wall (2 story)? If we make the first floor wall full height, then our send floor plan will not show that wall as it resided on the lower level.

I guess I am a little confused here. A ballon framed wall (2) story would be (2) stories tall. Your 2nd floor joists would be at 2nd floor level or 1st floor ceiling. When you say 1st floor walls full height, what do you mean? Full height at 1st floor elevation or full height for 2 stories? You can draw (show) your 2nd floor level to the inside if you will of the exterior walls by drawing your floor to the inside of the exterior walls as VectorWorks shows the "floor" lines if drawn to the exterior wall perimeter. What do you mean by reference?

In ballon framed construction the blueprints will show the full 2 storey wall on both levels as there will be windows and doors necessarry at both levels. This can be easily accomplished in VW by keeping the exterior ballon framed walls on thier own layer With two seperate class definitions for the first floor and second floor openings to be turned on and off in thier respective viewports.

Just something to consider.

The other method would be to create a redundant set of walls (don't think that would be smart though as you would need redundant windows also).

It's the openings that are going to be troublesome.
