doughd
Is there any way to turn off the Door/Window Tags for one sheet layer, but continue to have them on for another sheet layer? What I am trying to do is create a sheet with the floor plan showing dimensions ONLY, and another sheet with the same floor plan showing Notes such as the Door/Window ID tags, Room Names & numbers, etc... Thanks for any help... Quote Link to comment
Guest
If the door/window tags are classes, simply turn off the door/window tags in the one viewport and turn the class on for the other viewport. Quote Link to comment
doughd
How do I get the tags to be in their own classes? I want to use the feature of turning on the "on schedule" checkbox and naming each door & window so that my schedule is automatically created. Do I have to just not use this feature at all, and just create a text block with a circle as my tag; and ultimately have to create the schedules from scratch? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted November 12, 2007 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 12, 2007 How do I get the tags to be in their own classes? Window Settings dialog: Data tab: "ID Class" popup Quote Link to comment
doughd
Thanks alot Robert. I guessed I missed that option in the settings. But now I have another problem. I assigned the Door ID to class Door Spec, and Window ID to the Window Spec class, with both of the classes colors set to green. The window IDs are correct color, but Door IDs are still the color of the Door Main class. Quote Link to comment
moeman
I am having a problem getting the label information to update on the window schedule.....When Im change the id label in the window settings to 03...it remains 01 default on schedule...suggestions? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Did you recalculate the schedule? Quote Link to comment
doughd
Does anyone know how to fix this? I checked the Attributes palette, everything is set to class properties. Quote Link to comment
doughd
Sorry...new to this forum, not sure how it works yet...here is my question: I assigned the Door ID to class Door Spec, and Window ID to the Window Spec class, with both of the classes colors set to green. The window IDs are correct color, but Door IDs are still the color of the Door Main class. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Did you edit Door-Spec the same way you edited the Window-Spec class? Make sure you have "Use at Creation" checked while editing the class. Quote Link to comment
doughd
Yes the Use at Creation check box is checked on both classes, and I am still having the problem. How do I go about making sure that both colors print at the same lineweight, if I can't resolve the problem? Quote Link to comment
angwns
Sorry, this is a new question on the same topic: On my door tags, I have tried checking the option to "Keep ID Horizontal", but if a door has been mirrored or flipped it, especially at an angle, it will not align to the page. Is there a way to change the swing of the door without using the mirror tool? Thanks, Quote Link to comment
Guest
This should be posted as a new topic. What version of VW are you using? What OS are you using? (It's not a bad idea to add this information to a tag or signature) Quote Link to comment
angwns
Vector Works 13.0.0 (2008) Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) sorry about that. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Do you have Service Pack 1 for VW 2008 installed? Quote Link to comment
angwns
Yes. If (SP1) means service pack, that is... Quote Link to comment
Guest
Did you have this problem before installing Leopard? Quote Link to comment
angwns
I updated to VWX 2008 with Leopard, however a computer in our office that is running VWX 2008 on Mac OS 10.4 is having the same issue. This computer does not have the Service Pack installed. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Install SP 1 on that computer and see if the problem persists. We are trying to separate issues related to Leopard from issues unrelated to Leopard. Quote Link to comment
brudgers
Is there a way to change the swing of the door without using the mirror tool? Flip button on object info pallet. Quote Link to comment
angwns
Thank you for the tip! Unfortunately, the "flip" option is only available when you insert a door into a 3D-wall, and currently our office is drawing it's floor plans in 2D. Very frustrating... Regardless, this explains a lot. I was afraid Vectorworks didn't have the option. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Guest
You can still use the wall tool for 2D plans. It's a good idea to use for this very situation. Quote Link to comment
Guest
If it's a symbol, you can "flip" it by using the Modify > Rotate > Flip menus. Quote Link to comment
angwns
I love symbols, but the one thing about symbols I don't like is: objects within a symbol do not show up on vectorworks schedules. In my experience, when you create a door schedule it will not recognize doors that have been converted to symbols or doors nested within symbols. All of these replies have been very helpful. Thank you. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
There is an extra criteria you can add to your worksheets called InSymbol. When this is selected, the criteria will look inside of symbols as well as just on the layer. It is always additive, meaning that you will get the doors both inside of symbols and just on the layer. As far as I know, there is no way in a worksheet to get information on only things that are inside symbols. Pat Quote Link to comment
