digitalcarbon
i would like to have classes that can draw the roads shown in the attached. some are easy but others are not. any suggestions? Quote Link to comment
jfmarch
i suggest that many of these can be drawn as walls w/either solid fills, hatches or cavities. the classes will control the line weights for simple lines, but you can create wall types to graphically look like the other ones. the 'impassable road' and the railroad are a bit tricky- maybe you can create a script fo those... Guest
Some of the ones with details such as 6, 8, 10, 11, & 13 would be best drawn using the repetitive unit tool. Basically you set up a symbol with one segment, and the repetitive unit tool will repeat the pattern in a linear fashion. Quote Link to comment

wezelboy
Maybe make a path object plugin. You would have to get your hands dirty with Vectorscript, but I think that what you want is doable. -P Quote Link to comment
Guest
Digital, It simply entails drawing a few lines and saving it as a symbol. It shouldn't take too long. The repetitive unit tool manages the repeat. All you have to do is draw the path. And, if the path already exists as a polyline or polygon, then you simply convert it to a repetative unit using the Modify > Convert > Objs from Poly command and choose the symbol.
