chstech
So i want to have 3d text in my drawing and in some of my 3d only symbols. I have done the TrueType to Polyline & then Extrude or Convert to 3d Poly. But my problem is that when it becomes 3d the fill goes away. I want the fill to show in the letters without rendering the drawing. How do i do this?? Quote Link to comment

MullinRJ
Hi Drew, ???I don't believe you can see a 3D Poly fill without rendering. Unrendered 3D objects are always displayed in wireframe. Raymond Quote Link to comment

Ray Libby
Render it in hidden line, covert copy to group. Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
You can sort of do this with a viewport. Create the text in plan view Convert text to polyline Apply a fill Duplicate in place Ungroup the dupe extrude the letters downward (negative value in the extrude height) create a viewport containing only the extrude and the 2d letters check the "Project 2d Objects" box Now when you display the VP unrendered, at any view angle, the 2d poly letters will be on top of the extruded letters. Unfortunately, it will take some trial and error work to make the view angle and placement of your text VP match up with other objects in your drawing. -B Quote Link to comment
