ok if I crop a viewport with the rectangle tool, my viewport is cropped but the rectangle is left behind and prints out on my sheet layer. what should i do?

Enter the crop again and change the rectangle line weight to zero...

You can also just change the pen color to white.

if you make the line white, it can show up if you have two viewports that overlap

I tend to set the crops to a very pale grey that won't print, and a thin line weight. That way I can see them on the sheets. I am not sure if it matters, but it helps me with layouts and makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

I use the toggle viewport on off tool, that I downloaded from Vectordepot. I don't bother with all that line weight stuff (too much work). When I want to edit my viewport crop I toggle it on, then edit it, when I'm done I toggle it off.
