Jodyb17
I am having an issue with VW crasing when I try to export an elevation sheet layer to dwg format. The elevation viewports are hidden line renderings that are generated from a 3d model of the building. I have purged and tried all of the different export options. I was able to convert the viewport to lines as a workaround. Has anyone else run into this issue? Quote Link to comment
Guest
Are you getting an error message? Quote Link to comment
Jodyb17
No, but a window appears (standard Mac one I think) that tells you VW closed unexpectedly and gives the option to close, report, or reopen the file. Quote Link to comment
Jodyb17
I'm curious about what comes out on the Auocad end if a hiddenline rendering is exported. Does the dwg just have an image of the elevation within it? Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Get a copy of SolidWorks' free eDrawing Viewer for Mac and you will be able to check your exported DWG drawings before you send them off. This simple step can prevent a lot of angst. http://www.solidworks.com/pages/products/edrawings/eDrawings.html Quote Link to comment
Guest
Send the file over and I'll take a look at why it might be crashing. Quote Link to comment
Jodyb17
Thanks for the offer Katie, but the file is too big to email. It's a 75MB file (330,000 sf, six story building). I was able to come up with a workaround, so it's not too big a deal. Quote Link to comment
LarryAZ
Mike, Thanks for the eDrawings tip. Very useful tool. Quote Link to comment
Guest
You can use usendit.com to send files - it uses the internet to send the file rather than email, which alleviates file size limitations typically in place using email programs. Quote Link to comment
