Hugo
Hello. I am inserting doors in VW 12, in a wall, and the door appears in the wall and in the floor. I have changed several settings but it is still on the floor. How can I convert it to a normal door? Thank you. Quote Link to comment
Kaare Baekgaard
I suupose, you've changed the height setting from 0 to something else? (the very first numerical input in the object info palette) Quote Link to comment

bclydeb
As a trainer I get this question from trainee firms which are experiencing it. I had it occur in one of my files as well but I cannot recall how I actually solved it. (mostly by random poking) Has this issue been resolved? Quote Link to comment
bclydeb
I found what I takes to resolve the problem. In the door dialog sets where you input the door thickness - if the thickness for the door is zero (0) the floor "shadow" shows up. To be sure your door is at a real thickness go to Door Tool>Door preferences>parts>Part:Leaf (drop down) and set the thickness to a positive thickness. Thin doors are possible but not zero thickness. Hugo
The problem is happening to me again and I can?t get rid of it... How can I get back my normal doors? Thank you Quote Link to comment
Hugo
Just discovered that if I choose "glass" as the leaf type this happens, and if I return the leaf back to "solid" it disappears. Why a glass door has to appear duplicated on the floor? Quote Link to comment

Cris with no H
A similar problem with Window sills extending out was fixed by turning off Quartz. Cris Dopher Quote Link to comment
