lucid.lx
I recently received a DWG file from a scenic company for an event. I need to show the client some lighting examples in the room but the scenic drawing i received is only a frame. At the event there will be a fabric material stretched over the frame - is there a way to accomplish this within Vectorworks ? Any direction / support would be greatly appreciated. Jeff Prince
You could do it pretty quickly with the wall tool. Outside components as fabric, inside component as air gap. That would do both sides at once without obscuring the frame. Alternatively, you could draw polygons and extrude them in 3D views pretty fast. Quote Link to comment
EAlexander
I would let go of the idea of wrapping and just draw polygons on the downstage face to match your frame silhouette and extrude them 1/16" as Jeff has suggested. 2 Quote Link to comment
BartHays
And/or draw the downstage polygons and use Convert to Surface to eliminate the extra geometry while still allowing for textures. You may want to move .03" off the frame to avoid "z-fighting" 1 Quote Link to comment
