Tatiana Petrova
Hello, I have difficulties joining walls when they are in different styles. Can anyone help me? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
shorter
looks like you have duplicate walls? if not... L join the primary wall and T join the secondary. then join components. 1 Quote Link to comment
E|FA
I have yet to get this to work "perfectly" especially when there are components that are continuous between elements in the co-linear walls. Those walls are not joined, so components can't join. Rather than fighting it, I make the best attempt and move on. 1 Quote Link to comment
Tatiana Petrova
Thank you both! Joining the components was a challenge but somehow I managed to join the walls. Another question : Using the end cap tool - the pen thickness of the insulation overwrites the pens of the solid wall. Is that correct? The same happens when turning the insulation in front of the windows. Object info / External wall detail / Component... Quote Link to comment
shorter
There are a number of nuances to component linework. When using components we recommend setting the wall attributes to 'use component attributes' since it is invariably the components that take precedence on a GA drawing. You may need to turn off the right side line in the outer insulation component and the right side of the inner component. This is done in the component itself. This will then help emphasise the core/structural element. There has always been an issue though that the window frame always masks the wall line, unless the window has no fill. If you show the shim gap, this is less of an issue though. 2 Quote Link to comment
Tatiana Petrova
Thanks for the reply! I've already done this with the components. In fact the insulation of the external walls is with 2 components in order to use half of it on the sides of the windows. But this is an issue in section viewports. Showing the shim gap will definitely help. Quote Link to comment
