Paul Snell
Hello friends, I come from an AutoCAD background and I really like to use the right click for basic commands. I have added undo and zoom object to my right click menu already but I would also like to be able to pick the selection tool from the right click menu. I am using the workspace customisation window which allows me to drag commands into the background and object right click menus, but I can't see a way to add the selection tool. Will I forever have to reach over to my German keyboard or push my mouse over to the toolbar? We use mainly line drafting and I am in Vectorworks 22. Vielen Dank im Voraus! Quote Link to comment
zoomer
Not sure if there is a workaround. Yes, Selection is "X" key. I usually have keystroke "X" assigned to my Mouse Forward thumb button. (Fit View to Backward) And/or assigned to various 3DConnecion or Wacom input devices buttons. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Only menu commands can be added to the right click menu. But you could create a Plug-in Menu command that would only activate the Selection Tool. The script you need is a single line: SetTool(-240); Take a look at this thread for information on how to make that script into a Plug-in Menu Command. 3 Quote Link to comment
Paul Snell
Thank you for your assistance Pat! I will try it out when I am back in the office next week. I thought scripting was the way to go but I couldn't find the guidance I needed until now. Danke schön! Quote Link to comment
Paul Snell
It works! I had to rename it as my first choice for the script name (Aktivieren - I am using German as my language) called up the nested menu of the same name (Select all/select last/change selection/etc). Thanks for your help! Quote Link to comment
