DM_PAV
Hi all, I've seen a load of posts similar to this going back years and I can't believe there isn't a simple toggle or fix for this problem in 2024! I'm trying to get some default lights no to pass through a drape (using the soft goods tool). I've enabled shadows (as you can see on the floor) and I've created a texture called 'NoShadow' which I've applied to the drape which I believe should stop the light from passing through. I'm out of ideas no. I've never been able to get this to work properly. What am I doing wrong?! Quote Link to comment
markdd
You need to enable “Receive shadows” in the Renderworks background. Quote Link to comment
JBenghiat
The texture should have cast shadows enabled. That’s what makes them block light. Prior to 2023, Shaded/OpenGL would not account for the shadow cast/receive options in textures. Objects cast shadows by default as long as shadows are on in the render options. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ben3B
what is new in 2024 is that as for light in 2023, you have an option to uncheck limit shaded render mode to 8 shadows... If you open a file who comes from earlier version than 2024, you have to uncheck the option ! Edited December 19, 2023 by Ben3B Quote Link to comment
