Smartcursor Cues not showing in 2024

TSpital

Question

Greetings!

I just upgraded to 2024 and have found Smartcursor cues are not showing.

In previous versions, there was a Smartcursor settings option in the Tools menu where you could turn the cues on or off but that seems to have gone away.

Has anyone else come across this challenge?

I'm assuming it's a quick fix but I can't seem to figure it out.

Thank you for any help!

You should be able to find it here:

Thank you.

I do have that turned on and the cues do pop up within the drawing which is great.

What I'm looking for is when I hover over a tool icon to have its name pop up like in previous versions.

Same thing for tool functions.

In past versions when I hovered over a tool function, a brief description popped up.

I thought those were Smartcursor Cues as well but maybe I am mistaken in what to call them.

I'm sure it's a simple fix but I can't figure it out.

I have noted that Photoshop can sometimes have this effect if it's on in the background. It applies to several programs, so it's clearly their fault. It usually helps to turn it off. Really annoying !

Ha!   That's very strange.

I did have Photoshop running in the background and turned it off but there was no change in VW.

Good to know for issues in the future.  Thanks!

So you don't see this?

I don't think there is any way to turn that off.

Does it still work in 2023?

Could it be interference with a system extension or other software?  (I'm tracking down a similar issue right now with the B shortcut).

If you were on a Mac I'd recommend booting in safe mode or switching to a "blank" user account to see if that fixes it.  There must be an equivalent process on Windows.
