"Segmented" Stair in Hidden Line?

I've been working on a model and twice now, the stair object has become "segmented" when displayed in Hidden Line mode, seemingly at random. It renders fine in Renderworks. Any thoughts?

The stairs are using the texture Composite Decking Azek Weathered Teak RT.

 

That texture has the hatch Board 200mm HF imbedded in it.

 

The lines you are seeing in hidden line view are that hatch.

 

You can either edit the renderworks texture and remove the imbedded hatch or just delete the hatch from the resource manager and that will get rid of those lines in hidden line view.

Thanks for this. Would like the texture to have that hatch, but the hatch doesn't seem to "behave well." It doesn't seem to follow the grain of the wood in the texture.

First remove the texture from the stair object in the render tab of the OIP.

 

Then go to the graphic attributes of the stairs and set the texture of every part you need of the stair.

 

 I usually make a version of the texture where the hatch is turned 90 degrees just in case.
