Mac OS Ventura problem

ardish

Question

I have moved from a 13" 2010 Mac Air to a 15" 2023 Mac Air.  That means moving from USB to USB-C for the dongle connection.

I am running Vectorworks 2015.

The HASP Dongle is not recognized.  I just copied Vectorworks over, Do I need to reinstall from the CD? or do I need a new Dongle driver, or do I need a special cable.

Thanks in advance.

Running VW 2015 on a modern Mac OS is going to be difficult.

I've never done it, but I think you can run an older OS virtually.   You'll have to contact support about the dongle.

Hi Michaelk

I search around and found the appropriate driver for the HASP Dongle from THALES co.  Downloaded and installed it then fired up Vectorworks 2015 on the

MacAir with M2 processors.  Pulled up a few of my drawings (Small machine tool drawings) and played with them.  Tried rendering and was blown away.

I am moving from a 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB memory to an Apple M2. 4 slow processors, 4 fast processors and 16GB. memory.

The new machine is running 2015 Vectorworks under rosetta2.  Performance is way faster than it was on the Intel machine.  Especially rendering!
