Malcolm Woodruff
I have a job which requires curved roof beams.. How can I construct these and then alter the ends without it changing to a facetted shape as in the lower figure? I have tried sweep, which is how I got the top figure and I have tried making a 2D surface from arcs and then extruding it but as soon as it is extruded or altered in anyway it goes to a facetted figure and I cannot improve on it Quote Link to comment
VIRTUALENVIRONS
It should not facet. Does it facet in wireframe also? I think it is just the way your settings in Preferences are set. You may have it set too low, if so change to high. Quote Link to comment

Malcolm Woodruff
Thank you. Changing the Quality to High or Very high under the shaded render settings fixed it. Quote Link to comment

If you have trouble with curve quality in the sheet layers as well, check each viewport's OIP under the "Background Render Settings" button. This opens the same render settings dialogue box but only applies to the viewport. Quote Link to comment
