Error using Television tool

Recommended Posts

Hi

when using the television tool and trying to insert the display (see vwx file with example below) I get an error " the symbol you have chosen is not a valid Television model or is incorrect for the type and aspect you have chosen."

Once it lives inside the drawing it functions normal when you leave it alone. When you make changes the television tool is no more able to "see" this symbol.

Any ideas?

Solved it:

I changed the database entry from TV -> Display. That caused an error.

@C. Andrew Dunning: what is the tool using the "TV" for?

In the "__VS-ModData" Record "Type" must = "TV" for Television casing models.

That same Record is also used by projectors and stands so that value is needed to differentiate between the different model types.

I just tested this with the file you posted and things worked as-expected.

I get a similar error when working with the Speaker Array tool. It tells me that " the symbol you have chosen is not a valid Television model or is incorrect", but not what to do about it. This for both VW symbols and for custom ones.

@C. Andrew Dunning Help us Obi-Wan, you're our only hope...

If you're getting TV errors w. AudioArray 2, that is a REAL mystery...  😉

If you can send me a demo file w. step-by-step actions that produce a repeatable error I'll see if I can figure out what is going on.  W/o both, it is going to be incredibly difficult (if not impossible) to figure out what might be going on.
