Ned Daugherty
Hi All, What's the best way to minimize file size when using photorealistic 3D tree graphics for both 2D & 3D renderings? If I place 3D trees directly in the drawing, the file size is huge, even if using them as symbols. But, if I use a photo prop, in plan view it only shows a "+" mark, and not the plan view of the tree. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Jeff Prince
Highly detailed 3D trees will kill your file size every time, use sparingly and always as symbols. You can make a decent symbol from image props. Do one photo for the elevation, one photo for the plan, and put them on separate classes. The, turn the collection into a symbol. This will give you the ability to turn off the unneeded view as required and within viewports 🙂 Quote Link to comment
Cadplan Architecture
I was advised the following to help reduce file size, not sure if it will help you or not though- "In order to try to reduce the file size you can disable the Save viewport cache, Save VGM graphics cache and Save site model cache on File > Document Settings > Document Preferences."
