Data-Tag mirror/flip text

Recommended Posts

Hello Forum Users.

I'm trying to make a Data-Tag for my bridles.

With the steel length that I assigned in the bridle configuration tool.

My Data-Tag is build to first show the Basket and then the Leg Steel info.

But that means the basket is always on the left side or beginning.

But sometimes I need it to be on the end.

Depending how the leg is configured.

Is there a way to mirror the Data-Tag with the text?

I've added a sample file if that helps.

Greetings Martijn

Hello @Martijn Wingelaar,

If your data tag has Use Leader selected then you can make use of the Horizontal Position and Mirror Elements options to help you achieve what you are looking for. For this to work however you will have to split your text object into 2 separate text objects for the 2 separate parts of the formula. Otherwise, you can have 2 different versions of the data tag, one for left and one for right orientation.

Let me know if this helps.

Did the mirror setting / operation get modified? I don't recall it requiring the use of a Leader.

Also, is there a way to only mirror horizontally instead of also vertically (which makes no sense to me; that's like a double back flip)? What other text objects behave that way when mirrored?

BTW unchecking Adjust Flipped Text, and checking Mirrored looks pretty amazing:

Hello @Mark Aceto,

In your example you are using leader too. Maybe in the past did not require a leader but I will have to check to confirm, as I do not really remember.

Also, how did you get to this state? Can you share a test file? When I use Mirror elements I get a mirror by the Y axis only, so the top to bottom order is not flipped as in your example.
