Viewport Twins

_James

Question

We often reuse the same viewports throughout a document. It would be nice if viewports could be twinned so that everything is automatically updated in all instances when something in another changes, even the annotation space. Essentially a viewport as a symbol.

This is a good idea for taking up the slack that Data Visualizations can't handle.

I've had good luck in experiments using DVs for keymaps and repeating exhibits where layer or class control is the primary thing to be controlled.

This is really helpful for updating lineweights and fills throughout an entire project in one adjustment compared to Class Overrides.
