No text tool

Hi,

I haven't used Vectorworks for a long time and I'm just again getting into it. very rudimentary use. 2d etc. I currently have no text tool in my basic tool sets. I am using Mac and am current with updates. I went to the university and it looks like the insert text tool should be there. I can't figure it out. Am I missing something?

Is your basic tool palette scrolled up, hiding the text tool?

 

The keyboard shortcut 1 (above the Q, not the numeric keypad) should invoke the text tool.

Try switching to a different workspace. See if the text tool is there. If it is, then switch back. If it is not there then you will need to edit he workspace and add it back in.

 

But you might want to restart the computer and VW first.
